Description
The PSP50922 – Diploma of Interpreting equips individuals with the skills to interpret between two languages in general dialogue and monologue settings, where the interpreter has control over the interaction to assist with retention and recall. This qualification prepares graduates for work in a wide range of community and business sectors, including health, welfare, education, tourism, and social services. It includes interpreting in contexts such as police interviews, customer service interactions, non-complex disability assistance, and informal business exchanges. The focus is on managing routine and predictable content, where the complexity of the situation can be anticipated and planned for. Interpreters work in environments where miscommunication or errors in communication can be easily managed through careful preparation, consultation, and correction, ensuring clarity and effective communication in everyday situations. This qualification is ideal for those seeking to work as interpreters in informal settings where accurate, reliable communication is essential.
